Deactivationday was a short lived attempt encourage people to deactivate Facebook and Instagram for 24 hours once month as a protest. The protest was about their failure to deal with racism, sexism, their censorship of art and their dominance. Sadly while seeming very popular among friends, depending on people actively sharing the information, it didn’t sustain itself.
